Prototype Development project sanctioned by Cabinet Minister - Higher Education and Science & Technology


Cabinet Minister Science and Technology at his residence presented a cheque of Rs. 7.00 lakhs to innovator Shri Om Prakash Goyal and Shri Bhism Joshi for his prototype development project of ‘OPTER Two in One’ bike.

Shri Om Prakash Goyal from Durg district has conceptualized a project on ‘OPTER Two in One’ Bike that can be used on road and on water bodies. This facilitates the multipurpose use of bike especially in harvesting of water hyacinth and cleaning of garbage from the water bodies of the state and also in rescue operation in case of flood.

The prototype development with scientific inputs would be carried out under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Verma, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture Engineering, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. The total cost of the prototype development of the tune of rupees Ten Lakhs. The proposed duration of completion of prototype development work is 6 months.

For guidance in this innovation a committee has been constituted by the Council which includes Dr. S.P.S. Matharu, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Raipur and Dr. T. Ramarao, Professor and Dean (Admin), Bhilai Institute of Technology, Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology has been supporting innovations and innovative ideas in the state. Innovations which have commercial values are also facilitated for filing of patents. With this view Council has established Intellectual Property Rights Centre under which Patent Information Centre, Grassroot Innovation Augmentation Network Cell and Innovation Fund programme are being carried out.
