The main objective of the Council's role in 'Popularisation of Science' is to popularize Science & Technology amongst the people of the State and younger generation in particular. The activities of the Council in Science Popularisation are carried out through a network of Coordinators in Agriculture and other Universities, Engineering Colleges, Medical Colleges, Science Institutes, and Tribal, SC/OBC Departments along with active cooperation of NCSTC, New Delhi, NGOs and all other relevant Departments.
C.G. Council of Science and Technology has launched this programme to promote the young talent of State by organizing Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Congress every year. The 1st Chhattisgarh Young scientist Congress 2002 was organised by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University on 2nd & 3rd September 2002 at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur.
Research papers are invited in the following subjects
1. Agricultural Science, Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry 8. Earth Sciences, including Geology, Geography, Oceanography, Meteorology & Geophysics
2. Behavioral Sciences 9. Engineering Sciences & Technology
3. Biosciences 10. Engineering Sciences & Technology
4. Botany 11. Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Sciences
5. Zoology 12. Medical Sciences, including Pharmaceutical Sciences
6. Physics 13. Home Sciences, including Textile, Food & Nutrition and Child Psychology
7. Chamistry    
Consideration for participation:
  • Age on Feb. 28, 2004 or before, for Men - 32 years and for Women - 35 years.
  • 2 years research experience after Post-graduate Degree in the science subjects or Bachelors degree in case of Medical/Engineering subjects.
  • Research paper with single authorship.
  • The work should have been carried out in the State of Chhattisgarh.
  • Submission of one soft copy of Research paper along with the Abstract.
  • Minimum duration for oral presentation is 20 minutes, followed by discussion
Incentive to awardees:
  • A certificate to recognize his/her research work.
  • Cash prize of Rs. 1100/-
  • Single visit for a maximum of two months duration to any Institute, Research Centre, University or National Laboratory engaged in advanced research in India.
